Rockingham August 2006
Making his British GT debut our own Anthony Mott was invited to drive the Vauxhall Monaro alongside GT regular Steve Hyde for the Emotional Engineering Team.
Having relatively little experience of the circuit and having not tested the car the weekend promised to be a babtism of fire! Added to which miserable weather and a 500 bhp rear wheel drive GT car all added up to a potentially interesting weekend.
Although powerfull, the Monaro lacks a little finesse against our competitors such as the Ferrari 430 and the Panoz but as with all longer races getting to the finish is the best start towards a result and indeed the first race proved that with a second place podium finish and a third in the second race. More importantly we had proved the car had the reliability and the team the capability to run at this level of motorsport.
In all a great weekend and valuable points for the team in the championship ,
